Junior Black Belt – 1st Degree

JUNIOR BLACK BELT TESTING INFORMATION:

Congratulations to all the students entering the qualification period for Black Belt testing!

For the very 1st time in the history of the Philippine Martial Arts Alliance is the “testing and promotions” of some of dedicated younger PMAA students. Because this will be the very 1st batch of younger students in PMAA that will get tested for this prestigious Black Belt rank and because of the concerns some of Australia Instructors, we have decided to introduce the title .… JUNIOR BLACK BELTS!

Junior Black Belt title signifies that the student is not in the appropriate age yet to be labelled as Philippine Combatives Black Belt. Below are the two major things that will be implemented for the Junior Black Belt students:

1. Any Students Below 16 Years of Age will get a Black Belt Certificate stating “Junior Black Belt – 1st Degree”

2. Junior Black Belts will get a belt that is “Half Black/ Half Red with Black Trim” – a unique and “specially-designed” belt in the Martial Arts Industry, never been seen before!

Students can apply for the the Philippine Combatives Black Belt level when age of 16 is reached. There will be no additional testing fee for any student to apply for the new Black Belt rank status. However, a fee of $50 will be charged to cover the costs of the newly embroidered belt and Black Belt Certificate! Students must show acceptable knowledge and techniques proficiency of the given technical requirements to get approved for the rank applying for.

Students who are 16 years and younger can still move up in the rank of Junior Black Belt – 2nd Degree. Across the board, 2 years is the “minimum” time requirement to test from 1st to 2nd degree black belt and 3 years from 2nd to 3rd degree black belt. Keep in mind that testing fee applies for any applications to a higher black belt rank (ex: 1st to 2nd degree, 2nd to 3rd etc). Students will continue to wear the Junior Black Belt but will get the red stripping on their belts once a higher degree is achieved. (2 Red Stripes for 2nd degree). Junior Black Belts can then apply for their current rank’s regular black belt once the age requirement has been met. (Junior Black Belts – 2nd Degree to 2nd Degree Black Belt)

Students will only get to wear the traditional Black Belt with Red Trim once the 16 years of age has been reached.
